Privacy Policy

Who I am

My website address is RhondaFranz.com

What personal data I collect and why I collect it.

With the exception of demographic information, I don’t collect personal data on purpose, per se. It’s the nature of the internet and websites to collect such information. I don’t currently have a newsletter. The data I use is demographic information about who lands on this site so I know my audience. Please exit this site if you don’t like this idea.

If I do ever decide to start a newsletter, I don’t use email or contact information from comments or site visitors to build a list. I’ll get explicit permission from you to send you a newsletter.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site, data shown in the comments form is collected, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

So, I can see your Gravatar pics. 🙂 And I can see who you are.

If you don’t want me, or other visitors to the site to see these things, please exit the site. And of course, don’t comment on this site or reply to comments on this site.

Media

Don’t upload media to this website. That’s for me and anyone with website administration privileges to do.

Contact forms

If you fill out a contact form, I have the information in that form, as well as email information and other information described in this privacy policy.

If you don’t want me to have that information, please don’t fill out a contact form.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on this site, you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracing your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Analytics

I use analytic information to understand demographics of the audience reading and visiting captainmom.net. I want to know if my audience demographics change drastically, so I can write accordingly. If you don’t want your demographic information included, please don’t use/read this site.

Who we share your data with

I personally don’t share your data with anyone. Another site administrator has the ability to view data. Neither of us share, sell, or give away this data.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so I can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue. Again, this happens automatically. If you don’t want this to happen with your data, please don’t remain on the site or leave comments.

For users that register on this website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information. Neither myself nor another website administrator who helps me with this site will share or sell your information.

What rights you have over your data

After reading this privacy policy, if you’re concerned about your data rights while on this website, please leave the site.

If you have concerns, please email me at rhonda@rhondafranz.com

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Accepting this privacy policy

By using this site, you accept this privacy policy. Please don’t use the site if you do not agree with this privacy policy.

Third parties

This site doesn’t control content or privacy on other sites.

Industry regulatory disclosure requirements

If I write a sponsored post, or have received compensation or product in exchange for a post on captainmom.net, or have a particular relationship with the company who has provided the product/service, I’ll disclose that information to readers of this site.
